The Cool Beans Story

The vision of Cool Beans started in the mind of Angela Stoughton when her children were in high school in the early 2000s and life was hectic. She had been in the restaurant business but had had an old-fashioned hamburger and ice cream shop. In the busyness of life, she would often think back to a time in her life when she felt the safest and most at peace. Her childhood. She was born in the late 60s her mother was the stereotypical flower child with long flowing hair and brightly colored clothes. Her mother radiated peace and love. She also had a fierce love for the music of the 60s and 70s, so her mother’s turntable was always playing music from that era. During the same period as a young girl and growing up in a house adjacent to an orchard that her grandparents owned, Angela learned to cook in her grandmother‘s kitchen. Grandma‘s kitchen always smelled like fresh baked bread or cookies.

So, Angela conceived the idea of creating her own happy place from her happiest memories as a carefree child raised on folk music, love, and the smell of fresh baked , made from scratch food.  It is her wish to share these feelings  with everybody who enters through the doors of Cool Beans.

The first Cool Beans was located in Sterling Kansas, a small farming community. After a couple of years, she moved her restaurant to a larger town , Hutchinson, Kansas. it was located in an old train depot. Now, she is ready to share her vision with Cabo.
